Products & Technology
An insight into our unique micropropagation technology and our Arundo donax plantlets.

Our Technology

State of the Art
Our micropropagation technology is based on sustainable embryogenetic and somatogenetic tissue culture. From this, we are able to develop virus free, genetically stable, vigorous, homogenous bare root plantlets on an industrial scale. We guarantee an excellent production standard.

Well Protected & Developed
The micropropagation technology is worldwide patented, owned by the University of South Carolina and our company group has the sole license to use and utilise the micropropagation technology of Arundo. As we encourage continuous improvement and development, we never stop advancing our technology.

Support Until the End
On request, we provide acclimatization- and plantation management technology descriptions as well. These technologies can be further supported with on-site consultancy, in order to guarantee the success of the plantation. Once the project comes to an end, we have agrotechnology available for the termination of the plantation.

Exceptional biomass yield even on marginal lands
Depending on ecological conditions and agricultural input, our Arundo donax ecotypes have a competitive annual biomass yield. The varieties that we developed can be grown on marginal soils, so there is no competition with food crops over arable land.

Our Products
We offer soil ball and bare root versions of our mediterranean, tropical, continental and semi-arid Arundo donax ecotypes.

Bare Root Arundo Plantlet
Description
The bare root plantlet’s height is 5-10 cm, single or in small groups, virus free, genetically stable, vigorous, homogenous seedling, that requires 1,5-2 months of acclimatisation in greenhouse nursery before plantation.
Transport
In vitro bare root plantlets are delivered all over the world by air cargo. In terms of packaging, plantlets are in small plastic containers, packed in cardboard boxes.
Documentation
We provide documentation, including Plant Health Certification and Certification of Origin. There is also a germination guarantee (Buyer only needs to pay for the acclimatized soil ball plantlets that are ready for plantation).
Consultancy
Based on soil analysis and climate conditions, we select the best ecotype of Arundo from our gene bank to fit to local environment. We provide technology description of acclimatisation in the Greenhouse Nursery and of plantation management, and ongoing onsite guidance if requested.

Soil Ball Arundo Plantlet
Description
Soil-ball plantlet’s height is between 15-20cm and they come separated in plastic trays. It has a densely-netted root network within the soil-ball. Acclimatised in greenhouse nurseries, they are ready for planting.
Transport
Delivered in trucks within danish trays, however, we suggest the purchase of soil-ball plantlets only to countries near Hungary as the cost of transportation is substantially higher and the plantlets in this state are less durable.
Documentation
We provide a Certificate of Origin, however, we will not be able to provide a Plant Health Certificate due to the soil content of the plantlet. This may cause difficulties at customs.
Consultancy
We provide technology description of plantation management and ongoing onsite guidance, including consultancy (depending on the quantity of order or whether it is requested).
