We are very pleased to show our partner’s video of Arundo donax harvesting.Biothek, our reliable partner whom we have worked with for many years are demonstrating the two stages of harvest with their new video. The plantlets have been produced by Arundo BioEnergy and was planted in 2017. The estimated yield from this project is around 45 dry tonnes per hectare. It can be seen that during the cutting stage, the Arundo donax has a humidity level of 48%. The trimmed crop is then left on the field for it to naturally dry out. The next stage is chipping, by this time the humidity level decreases to 14%, suitable for transportation and storage. For more information on harvesting time and frequency for yield maximisation, you could read our previous article.
